The American flag will now fly at election sites where employees vote over whether or not to unionize, according to a recent announcement by the National Labor Relations Board. How ironic, considering that union officials are pressing to eliminate secret ballots over whether to unionize in favor of the coercive "card check" process, where employees are often pressured individually.
Unfortunately, the secret ballot election process is not without fault either. If 1,000 employees vote overall, and 501 vote to unionize, the other 499 must accept unwanted union "representation" over their wages and working conditions, and in 28 states pay dues or be fired. Such tyranny of the majority has no place over such fundamental choices as the Right to Work in a country that prides itself on individual freedom to choose.

WV trying to silence opposition to unionization...
I, unfortunately, live in a state where one can be fired for not paying union dues. I am outraged at a bill that the house recently passed in WV that prevents supervisors from talking to people about their views on unions and other subjects. The proponents of this bill argue that employers should not force their employees to attend meetings if antiunion speeches are taking place. Well, my argument to this is; WV is not a right to work state. So, if a union is voted into my company, even though I am opposed to unionization, I am forced to pay union dues. So, why not allow companies the freedom to express their concerns, or “force” their employees to attend meetings if I then am “forced” to pay dues to the union! We wonder why WV is not a state with great job opportunities. Well, maybe we should take a close look at our stance on unionization. No wonder companies pass up our state when it comes to business. We give unions so much freedom, force unionization upon employees who are opposed to unionization, and vote for politicians who are in the unions pockets. This is just one more thing that is taking away the voice of good companies and of the good people of WV. Not only should this bill never have passed in the house, but we also need to fight to make WV a “right to work” state. If this can’t take place then we as a people need to take a second look at the politicians that we have voted for and start electing those who will make our state business friendly. Until these changes take place, until the people of this great state stand up and make our voices heard, WV really is “closed to business”.
