Video: Employees Suffer Broken Windows, Slashed Tires, and Stalking for Refusing to Strike

View a new video by the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation about the often brutal intimidation that employees face for exercising their Right to Work.

Sadly, while these employees suffered greatly, others often face far worse retaliation for refusing to walk off the job during a strike.

Right to work

Why not ask her about comments she made while on strike with the OCAW against Hercules, Inc in 1986. She was very vocal and a very active union member then. She knew exactly what she was getting into when she crossed the picket lines. I don't condone violence but the picket line crossers were just as bad if not worse. They held up their pay checks and signs and veered their autos towards those who were participating in a legal strike. Yes, VA has a right to work law as well as legal abortions. Doesn't make either moral or right. Abortion kills babies. Right to work is simply an attempt to kill Unions. When corporations treat their employees fairly and equitably there will be no need for Unions. Until then let's keep up the fight. The right to work law requires Unions to represent all of the workers covered by the contract regardless of whether they pay or not. Seems they want free representation, plain and simple. I don't see them refusing the negotiated benefits gained by the Union, whether striking or not, or refusing Union representation when they are disciplined or fired.

Union Myths

Yes, VA has a right to work law as well as legal abortions. Doesn't make either moral or right. Abortion kills babies.

You might be interested to know that UAW Local 663 was an endorser of the pro-abortion “March for Women’s Lives” in Washington on April 9, 1995. It was also reported by The American Spectator in its April 1993 edition, in an article about the pro-abortion PAC, “Emily’s List,” that:

“In fact, so tight is the relationship between Emily's List and these liberal PACs that PACs ranging from the Machinists and the United Auto Workers to the National Education Association make direct contributions to Emily's List.”

The right to work law requires Unions to represent all of the workers covered by the contract regardless of whether they pay or not.

That is hardly the case. The unions routinely insist on being the “exclusive bargaining agent” for all of the employees in the unit. When attempts have been made in the past to eliminate this monopoly bargaining provision from the law, the unions have opposed it.

The only effect of a Right-to-Work law is to free workers from the burden of supporting an unwanted or ineffective union.

BISMARCK YOUR A RAT SCAB!!!!

You must be a company man! "Hey, I dont mind low pay and no health care. sign me up!". Listen!! If you are non union and make a half decent wage you still have to thank the union for setting the bar high. The company dose not care about workers. Get in a fight with you boss and see who wins. They protect their interests, the union protects mine! I guess you would rather lean on your bosses sense of fairness, right? IF HE COULD GET YOU TO WORK FOR FREE HE WOULD!! WHEN YOU DIE HE WILL REPLACE YOU!! Stop being a sheep and take measures to look out for your and your families own well being. Dont buy into the myth that these employers are selling you. I bet you love the eight hour work day, right? labor law? Workmen Comp? Fire codes? Labor Day? Electrical Code? Fire Alarm requirement? 30 Minute lunches? 15 minute breaks? Well THANK US!! And as for the scabs crossing the picket line. I dont support violence against them but at the same time they loved the union when they didnt have to sacrifice right? The only time they complained is when they had to take a stand for what they supposedly believed in. They like their pay rate thats their brothers fought for as evidenced by the fact that they still went into work during the strike.Im sure they like going to the doctor when they are sick. These things are not free. People fought for these things. They enjoy them so they must fight to keep them. They are SCABS!!!! No BACKBONE!!! They get what they deserve

No Thanks

You must be a company man!

Not so! I filed nearly as many unfair labor practice charges against my employer as I did against the union.

If you are non union and make a half decent wage you still have to thank the union for setting the bar high.

Only about 7½% of private sector workers are in unions. I don’t believe that the status of such a small minority of workers is dictating the wages of the other 90+ percent.

I bet you love the eight hour work day, right? labor law? Workmen Comp? Fire codes? Labor Day? Electrical Code? Fire Alarm requirement? 30 Minute lunches? 15 minute breaks? Well THANK US!!

Yea, and I can thank you for eight years of the disgraceful Clinton administration, promotion of same sex marriage and taxpayer funded abortion, higher taxes, and attacks on the Second Amendment. Well — no thanks!

And as for the scabs crossing the picket line. I dont support violence against them …They are SCABS!!!! No BACKBONE!!! They get what they deserve

Aren’t you contradicting yourself here?

Gee, I wonder why union membership continues to decline. I can’t believe that anyone would want to pass up an opportunity to associate with an organization full of fine, reasonable folks like you.
