Worker Advocate Offers Legal Aid to Charlotte Employees Discriminated Against during Democrat Convention

Media reports suggest nonunion workers may be ordered off their jobs to satisfy demands of Organized Labor

Charlotte, NC (November 9, 2011) – The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation, which helps victims of forced unionism, is offering free legal aid to workers who refrain from union membership and may be ordered off their jobs or prevented to work during the 2012 Democratic National Convention scheduled for August 2012 in Charlotte.

In response to media reports, the Right to Work Foundation is offering free legal assistance for nonunion Time Warner Cable Arena, surrounding venue, local hotel, and other area workers who may lose work in favor of unionized workers in the lead up to and during the convention.

Discriminating against workers who exercise their right to refrain from union membership is a clear violation of North Carolina's Right to Work law and the federal National Labor Relations Act.

Shark

Hey Mark when these people do away with their unions, are you going to go bargain new raises and benefits to keep up with cost of living?
Are you going to fight for them when they want a raise? I would bet my house you won't touch them with a 10' pole. When there left by theirselve to negotiate a wage increase, they will have no chance. They will be told of how the company is not making enough money and there is no possibility of a raise.
Where will you be then Mark "the shark" Mixer. Preying on the weak and defenseless.

the roofer

Apparently the roofer has been out in the sun to much and hasn't noticed that over the past 25 years the unions have turned on its members and now use them as cash cows for political interest while neglecting actual employee abuse. Thanks to the CWA my benefits and my pay are falling way behind the rate of inflation. So Roofer stick with your Union and your political party and none of us will have a house to bet anybody.
If your not a part of the solution than your part of the problem.
ITS TIME FOR A NEW TYPE OF UNION!

Way behind who?

If you can acquire better pay and benefits than what your current situation, than do it. Truth is your probably already pushing your limit on wages and benefits. Especially when so many are out of work and illegal workers are working for less than minimum wage.
I've only been working for 16 years and 12 of them union. And from my personal experience it's been good. Since in the union I make more on my check than the non-union counterpart. I also recieve insurance and a pension on top of my gracious wage. So I am thankful.
I only pay 4% of my wages. It's very little for what I recieve in return. And out of my 4% I know very little goes for political funds. The small portion we do give out goes to politicians, who endorse working class values. Democrat or Republican.
And your right "If your not a part of the solution than your part of the problem", your union is hurting because of poor members like yourselve, who make it hard for everyone.

Unions

If you need a union to receive more pay than you deserve admittingly...then you are the problem.

Gangs do the same thing. It's a problem. Hows about you vote with principles of a free nations people and help us get rid of the illegals your unions are politically helping to keep here and lower all of our wages.

Unions are a bunch of Hoffas, snakes and corrupts that do not care for their country, but their own small pensions @ the cost of freedom to us all and our children's children....fools.

Remember Dems...Ask not what your country can do for YOU, ( union mooches), but what you can do for your country.

illegals?

Hmm, part of my job is to find non-union companies employing illegals and bringing light to it. These companies prey on public works projects paid for with our tax dollars. Unions do nothing to keep illegals here to lower wages. We try to raise wages.
I could go to a non-union shop and be the top worker making close to what I make now. But I would know that the other 10 guys working are getting paid way lower wages and there doing the same thing. We seek equal pay for all, just as Hoffa did. Though his ways were wrong his ideas were good for the working man. Which your probably not, your probably collecting welfare or unemployment.

HEY ROOFER!

You may want to educate yourself on how much money is DONATED to each political party by the unions and who is supporting illegal aliens in their bid to stay in this country.
By the way I work for a major telecommunications company and my family has had over 120 years of service with this company and NOBODY takes more pride in their work then me. I have had many many offers to work for other company's that are non union for a substantial amount more then I make now. However as strange as it may seem to YOU I have a sense of loyalty to the COMPANY. It makes me sick to my stomach every time I see some lazy slug crying to the union about being disciplined because he was caught sleeping or some other equally outrages offense, when he was being PAYED to work. And weather your willing to admit it or not it happens way way to often. I wonder why we cant compete in a global economy Duuuuh even a roofer should be able to figure that one out!

Loyalty?

" I have had many many offers to work for other company's that are non union for a substantial amount more then I make now."
Be truthful now, you don't want to give up your job because you recieve a pension, health care, job safety and you know that you will lose it if you leave. Loyalty, that's funny.

HEY ROOFER!

You must be from a different planet. I'm on my wife's health care because what the union negotiated for is Crap! The pension sucks and can be top by a 401k offered by small non-union company's. I was chairman of the safety committee but it hard to accomplish much when the member are only worried about getting out of work for a couple of hours for the safety meeting and don't follow up with anything after the meeting.
Oh yeah since your on the e-board why don't you just go ahead and tell us what percentage of political donations go to democrats and what percentage goes to republicans.
And as far as illegal Aliens. If your chosen political party would stop pandering for their votes and help enforce immigration laws it wouldn't be an issue. By the way were you at the boarder? because I was at home making sure none were working on the addition to my house, especially roofers! By the way an illegal alien doesn't have the skill to do my job. unfortunately for you the same is not true!

Votes

"If your chosen political party would stop pandering for their votes and help enforce immigration laws it wouldn't be an issue."
Hmm Rich Perry was talking about giving illegal aliens free college. Sounds like someone is looking for some hispanic votes.

401k is a joke. You'll find out when you go to retire. Non-union companies say they'll match your deposits, but what they don't tell you is that when you quit or get fired for ANY reason they have the option to withdraw there contributions. I've heard this sad story a dozen times now. Defined pensions are a definite and can not change just because your boss doesn't like you. My father retired this year and is drawing 56K a year. Can't say much on your health care it is up to your membership to demand what you get. Don't follow up with anything after the meeting, follow up with what? A

Educate Yourself

Hmm, since I'm on the e-board, I do know who much is donated and to who. We donate to people who are for organized labor, Republican or Democrat. Duuhhh.

Illegal aliens?

Again which union is helping illegal aliens. Part of my job is to find them and report it, how is that helping illegal? Teamsters just were at the border protesting the Unamerican truck drivers coming here. Where were you? What have you done to fight illegal workers besides whine? Quit worring about a global economy and worry about our economy first, duuuuh.
Instead of saying you work for "major telecommunications company", just say I work for the phone company. Hey when this company finds a hispanic who will work for min. wage, will you too? Duuuhhhh!!
